(published online under journalism laws. cc'd to surgery,
email address is public on the surgery website)
with kind thanks and gratitude to simon and (julie? she was
the same lady as last week? different team). i keenly
appreciate the impossible situation we (all of us) find
ourselves in, here, especially as the rate of paramedic
callouts is one, even two, *a day*.
i appreciate the advice (of julie?) not to use the word
"anaphylaxis", as it results in blue-lights and diversion.
however as i explained it is systematically the 999 triage
team (and in this particular case a SCAS clinician) that
decided after four breathing difficulties and tourette's
symptoms within a 30 minute period (video evidence recorded
by me) that a high priority callout was a necessity.
i was very surprised and honestly quite alarmed that two
additional paramedics turned up ONE A MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN,
this actually induced severe terror (and associated anaphylaxis)
and in speaking to them on leaving after thanking simon and
(julie?) they looked somewhat reticent / embarrassed / sheepish
to be speaking with me, but i wanted to thank them and apologise
for the necessity of their additional attendance, despite not
knowing or having been informed as to why they were there.
(i would appreciate an explanation as to why they were called out)
i was also a little surprised that when lying on the floor
it was ten minutes before equipment was brought out, just
as the second vehicle arrived. i found this a little strange,
but at least tests were done, and showed in particular a BP
of 150/110(?)
we managed however to get through communication difficulties,
successfully, but it was really challenging given that i was
in deep shock and distress: in particular i know when to
lie down and not get up, to risk any brain damage.
i greatly appreciated and understood that the continuous
repeated requests to stand up were made but was not entirely
in a position to explain, as it is medically complicated.
what i am really grateful for is that unlike the A&E assault
of 4th march they were respectful of my assessment that it
was medically safer to remain on the ground, given the symptoms
that i have lived with and am familiar with for a year now.
just so everyone is aware: i went into deep sobbing distress and shock on
learning that yet another police case has been closed
without properly interviewing me as an autistic adult with
chronic adrenal fatigue syndrome, PTSD, two strokes, and
more. the SCAS clinician kindly took notes to provide to
the police based on how much distress i was in on learning
*from calling 101* - not by anyone calling *me* to explain,
not calling *me* for an interview.
i do not understand why the crime reports are not being taken
seriously. nor why as someone who is at extreme risk is not
properly being respected.
there is supposed to be laws in place - Disability Act 2010,
Care Act 2014, Autism Act 2009 - to help safeguard me from
harm, yet i see no evidence of compliance with the law,
get no support, no diagnoses, meanwhile the harm and abuse
continues, no justice occurs, i don't understand despite
devastating destruction of my life including brain damage.
i will leave it at that, and insist on receiving an explanation
for the attendance of a "mental health" SCAS clinician.
thank you.
l.
