For future reference:
IIRC making an account on gitlab.freedesktop.org is quite easy, you
can sign up using an email address or a pre-existing account on
GitHub, GitLab, Google, or Twitter.

That said, I think using git.libre-soc.org is probably better (though
they *do* have lots of nice CI set up) until you want to submit merge
requests for upstream, at which point it would be very helpful to
create an account.
