Giovanni, our last (and only) communication was your offer to act as a
Mediator, a couple of days ago, which I appreciated and took at face value.
Your message is, if I may be honest with you, rather weird and alarming,
containing statements that I have never heard of (or experienced). There
are a few verifiable mistakes.
The first is that I was in Taiwan in 2019, ~8000 miles away.
The second is that I was never an "employee" of RED Semiconductor Ltd: I
was a *founder* with majority shareholding, and was (technically still am)
a Director and Person of Significant Interest.
I'm placing the list into emergency moderation to prevent any further such
messages, firstly as due to termination of funding it is very unlikely for
a project of this magnitude and complexity to continue.
It only remains viable if funded long-term, as the level of concentration
and focus needed for such a complex project is so high that the
"normally-believed-viable" method of part-time volunteer work is sadly
naive and ultimately unrealistic.
Secondly I have a duty and responsibility to protect myself and others from
harm, and if messages like this are sent out more than once it indicates a
failure on my part to protect people from net-abuse.
Therefore sadly I regret to inform all members that I have no other choice
but to enact immediate emergency moderation, to enable moderation on every
member, and will need to enable vetting of list membership in future.
To anyone affected by this... surprising message... I can only apologise. I
will not however be deleting it, as the project's "Transparency" remit is
inviolate (the only exception being legal requirements such as the GDPR).
It basically looks - and I do stress that is an unverifiable hypothesis -
like a more complex and sophisticated "disinformation" attack. Members
should almost feel honoured (!) that Libre-SOC could be subjected to such,
where most online (social media) manipulation is much simpler and
conflict-inducing, this message, if the hypothesis is correct, would appear
quite cleverly crafted to destabilize.
Yet, as always, as a black-box reverse-engineer, we know there is no
certainty (certainly being a *pathological* state of mind), so the above
hypothesis must remain that: a hypothesis.
Honestly having studied and observed the rise of this phenomenon for
decades, I freely admit I admire such efforts, in their masterful and
frequently-successful effects when targeting people unaware of the
breathtaking extent of social media manipulation of today.
