I remember that I have agreed to a "sort of code of conduct"

a Code of HONOUR. not a Code of Conductment.

Always do good
Never do harm
The Code applies 100% of the time
Everyone knows the Code

But it seems that the NLnet framework requires something else,

... which suddenly reared its head for the very first
time around four weeks ago, when the project has
run under an Ethical Code of HONOUR its entire
duration, dating back to 2018.

they operate on the basis of MoUs, not contracts.

I therefore had to be phrase messages VERY
carefully to them as I cannot possibly give any
impression of DEMANDING payment. it had to
be done in a very specific way of merely
"pointing out that I believe there were no further
barriers to fulfilling the MoU" - or similar to that.
any DEMAND they could just cut us off entirely
as there is *no* contract of any kind.

(NLnet is a Charitable Foundation, not a business)

I was also extremely surprised and alarmed to learn
for the very first time in 7 years that they REQUIRE
enforcement of something called the
"IEEE Code of Conductment", when the project
has run its entire time strictly under a much
stronger, more ethical and non-optional Code of
HONOUR which every single contributor bar none
has been required to agree to. I require all
contributors to write on the list or the IRC Channel
that they have reviewed it and state they agree to
abide by it, and only then will I give them write access.

(interestingly, no RED Semiconductor Ltd employee
or Director *ever* agreed to the Project Charter)

What I have read so far is "carefully
> phrased and politically correct" declarations
> of intentions without even going into any detail,
> nothing is coming from the heart, everything is calculated.

indeed. the message stating "we enforce IEEE Code
at you" also has a really weird vibe about it, given
that it has never once come up - ever - in any
conversation with NLnet - *including* not when
any MoU has been signed.

being threatened and intimidated by ex-members
that blatantly violated the project's Charter will do
that much more effectively.

I see Luke's endless efforts to remedy this yet the more

indeed.
