trademarked specifications work by the trademark covering the name and logo
and other branding, not the specification contents itself. the *condition
for using* the trademark on your own stuff is that you implement the
specification, this is distinct from the trademark itself.

if not for patents and stuff (but not trademarks), you can totally
implement the specification but not use the trademarked name/logo/etc.
