ok, yeah, i'm realizing that paying the amount that was promised is what
you care about, which i completely overlooked. sorry.
it didn't really occur to me before, since I was thinking about it from the
perspective that the amounts in the budget for most bugs are random initial
guesses (though much less random than I initially thought, i had a whole
argument about that with luke because I didn't think it was possible to
accurately estimate budget) and will be adjusted after the tasks are done
to more accurately reflect the amount of effort used.
what i meant by phrasing it better would probably be me saying something
like:
this will likely look suspicious to the EU auditors, can you please state a
justification for why you getting paid this much isn't a problem.
I would expect you to say e.g. "it really took x number of hours" or "i
have special experience which is why it's much easier for me, i'm getting
paid for my experience" or "the original plan was based on it being quite
complex with steps x, y, z so that amount is based on that original plan"
or something.
