today i created a coldboot initialisation bare metal program for ls2.py using the gram library.

the binary compiled successfully into the VERSA_ECP5 resources, ran at 50 mhz, displayed on the uart16550 console but did not initialise the DDR3 IC.

i then looked through the gram source code and found a "FakePHY", in nmigen.  this is fantastic because i can plug it into ls2.py and run under verilator.

i will try that tomorrow.
