good to see: whatever you do, do *not* break the existing code.  if
this is "broken", it is abbbsolute top priority, 100%, that it be
"fixed", immediately:

+    #FIXME: suite.addTest(TestRunner(LDSTTestCase().test_data))

any new functionality it is absolutely critical that it be added in
such a way as to be optionally disablable and that there be zero
impact.
