i was wrong about the roundabout analogy on the entry and exit point: they do
not cross.  entry is *after* exit (350 degrees not 370)

so 4 loops will be 3x360 + 350.

anything incoming will be blocked by things already on the roundabout.

once one free "slot" (car) exits the roundabout, one of the incoming can use
it.

we need the FSM first however so that we at least have something simple to go
with and if there is time revisit this.
