unfortunately, they demand and force mentors to provide "real"
identities, forcing them to register in the google system. google has
arrogantly set themselves up as "God", basically.

i've written at some length of the dangers of corporations violating
the long-established rule that you do not, under any circumstances,
trust an online identity. ever.

google, facebook and other companies are operating under the extremely
dangerous assumption that they can be "trusted" to be "God". The
Absolute Inviolate Authority on personal identity. who the HELL do
they think they are??

not to mention: forcing students to reveal their identity in exchange
for cash??

so.. no, i will not be applying for GSoC. if however an individual
student comes forward, on their own initiative, i'm happy to
*unofficially* (as far as google is concerned) help them *publicly*
only [no private discussions], via the publicly accessible libre-riscv
or other suitable public and completely transparent resources.
