For the same reason I would never buy a Steamdeck, I have a Valve Index
that I use with my Talos II. Steam is proprietary, and technically it
won't run on the POWER9. But I don't need Steam and SteamVR, as Monado
and Libsurvice can be used instead. And I only play free games.

And I have been thinking of an Oculus Quest clone using libre-soc
hardware for about half a year.
