I ended up buying a Ryzen 7950X and an AM5 motherboard and 64GB of DDR5 and
a better heatsink. it cost me USD $1,355.45 (including sales tax).

Luke, can we decide if Libre-SOC wants to pay for any of that?

this ^ and that Linux doesn't yet have great support for P/E-cores on x86
is why i decided against buying the 13900k instead, despite slightly faster
single-core/multi-core performance in some applications.
