the issue dimitry is size and reproducability.  anyone can take the git commit hashes and reproduce that which is redundant and effectively useless / wasting-space

with very few exceptions (ha ha of which we ironically seem have quite a lot [1]) you never commit autogenerated output to anywhere precisely because it can be reproduced.

[1] crossing over loosely-related projects with massive dependencies is a good justification, as is VLSI reproducibility. although, there, exactly what i feared would happen has in fact happened: soclayout is an astounding 130 mb.
