no, i was referring to MultiCompUnit, because the context was MultiCompUnit
and that formal proofs of MultiCompUnit had been mentioned.  no mention
of the pipeline API had been made.

(it so happens that MultiCompUnit *interacts* with pipelines *via* the
pipeline API).
