yyeah generally inadviseable to run monitors off of a UPS. if you are not
around at the time of a power failure they will drain the battery very fast.

for the dell system i have here i set up two separate RS232 ports and
arranged one in /etc/inittab to have getty running on it.
then i use the GPD-III with its RS232 9-pin port installed and use
a null-modem cable. the GPD-III has something mad like a 5-8 hour
battery life when the CPU is cranked down to 800 mhz (oh and can be
charged from USB-C)

you absolutely do not need 3 monitors running on a UPS. you do however
need surge-protection for them which is also provided by that unit.

oh - i also got a 4-way block converting kettle-lead into Universal-Sockets,
very handy.
