[Libre-soc-dev] insndb: further directions

Hi folks, I've finally managed to dedicate some time to publishing all
these issues to bugzilla:

I've also linked issue 1140. Regardless of the exact fate of aliases,
I'm pretty sure pure vanilla PPC aliases will never be dropped forever
due to code compatibility. So we will have to support these anyway.
