I’d like to take issue with this deprecatory, derogatory comment as a mischaracterization of the facts.

You wrote syntactically correct Python code—not a sign of “a person of low general intelligence.”
You demonstrated wisdom in accepting good advice to correct a bad decision—rather than hanging on to that bad decision in the face of good advice as would a fool.
