Subject: Possible funding

The German government has announced a funding round in the field of
microelectronics and communication technologies with a focus on
"Safety, Security, Sustainability, Sovereignty". As far as I can
understand I think it is more oriented towards companies actually
creating the chips and not the ones designing it. It does however
mention that relevant value chains would be considered as well. Also,
funding would only be possible for a company with at least a branch
office in Germany. This seems to be part of a bigger initiative called
„Important Project of Common European Interest on Microelectronics“
(IPCEI ME). A news site mentions other European projects such as
EuroHPC and the European Processor Initiative (EPI) which I believe is
the source of the nlnet funding.

Would this be something worthwhile to pursue? The PowerPi project
could be an interesting funding project.
