ah yeah that's a good idea.
primarily i wanted to see if there's anyone in the bitcoin community interested
in this.
there was a company i'd been speaking to who wanted to do something
based on RISC-V.  rather sheepishly i had to explain to them the
conflict between "making things transparent and public" and "the way
ISA mods are done in RISC-V".
they believed that they could do the modifications as a custom extension,
which they probably can... except they end up being the permanent
maintainers of a hard fork of gcc, llvm, binutils, u-boot, linux kernel,
libc6 and so on.
