success!  it looks awful, the actual cell is littered with invading
external components, the routing is all over the shop, and i don't
care!  :)  it actually allows a completed PnR, creates GDS-II (and AP
files, interestingly), and the lovely 6+ hour long cougar "make lvs"
is underway.
