i've been thinking for some time to move the python-based simulator
(plus associated wiki files) to its own repository.  to achieve this i
had to work out how to do ikiwiki underlays, and how to automatically
merge them with an existing ikiwiki.  that was successful.

one of the reasons for considering this is because, really, the
simulator plus other automated parsing of the spec really has nothing
to do with the HDL, and other people who may wish to contribute may be
a bit intimidated by the massive size of the unrelated HDL.
