A: long, detailed and complicated

Q: so i have made a model in my head of how i think things work, made
a model of what i think you said, and i have some discrepancies i
would like to check with you.
A: short because you did most of the work, *you* spent the time
describing exactly how *you* think things work, and the answers can in
many cases be as short as "yes you got it right".

the former is a non-productive huge drain on time and resources.  the
latter is standard practice for the majority of technical development
conversations.
