            Bug ID: 1138
Summary: UPS for Jacob's CI server
           Product: Libre-SOC's second ASIC
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Linux
            Status: CONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: ---
         Component: source code
          Assignee: programmerjake at gmail.com
          Reporter: programmerjake at gmail.com
                CC: libre-soc-bugs at lists.libre-soc.org, lkcl at lkcl.net,
                    programmerjake at gmail.com
   NLnet milestone: ---

it would be useful to have the CI server (as well as my other equipment such as
router, switch, desktop, etc.) have a battery backup.

luke suggested it:
https://libre-soc.org/irclog/%23libre-soc.2023-08-10.log.html#t2023-08-10T00:14:36

after looking around a bit, I think I should get:

$309:
https://www.apc.com/us/en/product/BR1500G/apc-backups-pro-1500va-865w-tower-120v-10x-nema-515r-outlets-avr-lcd-user-replaceable-battery/

and

$219:
https://www.apc.com/us/en/product/BR24BPG/apc-backups-pro-external-battery-pack-for-1500va-backups-pro-models-formerly-backups-rs-1500/

which together last 40min at 500W

my other choice that doesn't last as long when the power goes out and may not
be supported as well on linux:

$545:
https://www.cyberpowersystems.com/product/ups/smart-app-sinewave/pr1500lcd/

there's EUR 400 left of bug #774, I'm fine with paying the rest myself since
I'm getting a bigger than strictly necessary UPS since I want to use it with my
desktop and other stuff too.

(note to self: planning on also getting CORSAIR RM1000e at the same time)
