I'd be very surprised if that were the case, since I expect the emails to be on
the order of 1-2kB each since they only contain ~60 lines of text. To use 1GB
of space would take like 1,000,000 commits!

The actual build log is stored in a git repo where git is very good about
compressing out redundancies across files (when objects get packed into a pack
file).
